One of the anemones died.

One of the anemones died unfortunatelly. And because of the high salinity macro algaes are disappering.

Newcomers

Today I have added 2 beadlet anemon (Actinia equina) and 1 snail (Littorina saxatilis I gues). I already had the smaller size of the same snail with algae. The bigger anemone loks unhealty unfortunatelly. I increased the salinity 1,018 because of the anemones.

I have decreased the salinity very slowly. It is now about 1,017 which is similar to the Black Sea and Bosphorus and some parts of  Marmara sea. I have added more mussels and algae.

New Pictures

We hunted mussells and algae with Cem

Today, Me and my son  searched the Bosphorus sea side for our sea aquarium. At the end, we hunted handfull of mussell some sea lettuce ( Ulva lactuca ), few isopods and red algae.

Hot Days of June

I should change the location. Now the aquarium is next to the hall window which looks to the south east. By replacing the balcony which looks to the northwest, I can support it with atleast -5  Celcius chiller area.

First Guests

I have added rocks from my previous aquarium. There are macro algae and little mussells(Mytilus edulis, I gues) attached them. Unfortunatelly I don't now the name of macro algae. I have also added 3 shrimp (Palaemon elegans)

Starting

Below pictures from my previous aquarium.

It has been nearly more than one year since I started sea aquarium as a hobby. I decided to start a new aquarium by cancelling the previous one  (45cmx30cmx25cm) which you see in upper pictures.  We are now in June and the weather is very hot. My location is in Istanbul in Turkey.

I will try to setup an aquarium which I can grow the  live forms from Marmara and Black Sea and Bosphorus, in it.

Salinity is 1,023. There are aragonit sand on the left side and coral pieces on the right side. Rock are rounded and from the river bed. Unfortunatelly the weather is very hot. I think I should change the location of the aquarium in the future. But let's not forget little rock pools are suporting a great amount of variations of life altough rock pools climate can be very high in the summer time.
